Case Medical, Case Dental, and CCF Lerner Medical Student Group
This past academic year saw some changes to our Case and CCF campus ministries. The biggest change was the combining of the two groups into one! With both medical schools now housed at the new Health Education Campus, the student leaders thought it would be best to combine the two ministries. And the new combined ministry has been outstanding, in large part due to the ministry of our wonderful group of student leaders from the two schools. Many thanks to Monica Larson, Priscilla Kim, Lisa Kojima, Stephanie Njemanze, and Jeremiah Nkashama for their outstanding leadership this past year!
The move to the new Health Education Campus also allowed for students from the Case Dental School to join our fellowship, and they have been a great blessing to us. We are hoping that they continue to find benefit in our fellowship and Bible study events!
We would appreciate your prayers for our new group of student leaders. Please pray for Allen Chen, Peace Orji, and Derrick Obiri-Yeboah as they step into the role of leading this group in the upcoming year.
Ohio University, Heritage College of Medicine:

Please pray for student leaders Evelyn Lee and Paul Lungu.
THE MEDICAL STUDENT MINISTRY OF NEO CMDA PLAYS A CENTRAL AND ACTIVE PART IN THE LIVES OF MEDICAL STUDENTS THROUGH COMMUNITY, FELLOWSHIP, AND BIBLE STUDY.
Honoring our 2020 Graduates
The following is the list of students and residents who will be graduating this year. It was our privilege to congratulate and pray for them on our last Zoom Gathering. If you missed that time, you can view it at your convenience here:
Some of our graduates shared with me where they will be pursuing their residency training, as well as specific prayer requests for their upcoming transitions; that information is included below as well.
FROM THE OHIO UNIVERSITY HERITAGE COLLEGE OF MEDICINE:
Alex Mosteller matched into the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Alex had this to say about his time in CMDA: "I am grateful to have been a part of the first CMDA group from OUHCOM Cleveland! We had a fantastic group of people and I am thankful for their encouragement and friendship throughout medical school." Alex shared the following prayer requests with me: "Please pray for my wife and I as we move down to Columbus to start this new chapter of our journey. We are excited to get involved in a Word-driven church in Columbus and continue to grow in our relationships with the Lord."
FROM THE NORTHEAST OHIO MEDICAL UNIVERSITY:
Yostina Farid matched into the Dermatology program at Brown University / Rhode Island Hospital. She will begin that program in July 2021 after completing a Transitional Year at Summa Health in Akron. Yostina shared the following about her time in CMDA: "NEOCMDA has had an incredible impact on me throughout my four years of medical school. I had the privilege of serving as president during my second year, and I was an active member the remainder of the years. This organization has provided me with several incredible friends who have become family, given me peace and hope during hard times, allowed for growth in prayer and weekly Bible studies, and proved to me the importance of support from a faith community." Yostina asked that we pray for her upcoming transition to residency, which she will start early due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Yostina shared with me, "I will be starting residency early (May 16th) to help with the current pandemic. Prayers for a smooth transition, God's guidance and wisdom in treating every single patient, His peace and comfort in this shaken world, and safety during this time would be so appreciated."
Andrew Turk matched into the Urology Program at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital. He shared the following with me about his time in CMDA: "It has been an honor to have been a part of NEOCMDA throughout medical school. It has given me the opportunity to strengthen my faith and friendships with classmates. I'm thankful to have been a part of this organization."
FROM THE CLEVELAND CLINIC LERNER COLLEGE OF MEDICINE:
FROM THE CASE WESTERN RESERVE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE:
Amy Kim matched into the Pediatrics program at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital at UH Cleveland Medical Center. Amy shared the following with me about her time in NEOCMDA: "NEOCMDA has been such a blessing to me as a medical student. I met so many amazing people who love the Lord and are serving in different ways. The community of believers in the healthcare field was such an uplifting weekly support while I was a medical student and, as for the near future, introduced me to a couple of my upcoming, more senior residents, and I am so thankful that I can be working with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ." Amy shared with me the following prayer request: "My grandmother was just diagnosed with metastatic cancer. I am thankful that this occurred while I do not have clinical duties, but COVID-19 precautions make this a difficult time for our family to gather/care for her. Prayers for peace and wisdom as we decide the next steps to take as well as comfort for my grandmother would be so appreciated."
Tolulope Rosanwo matched into the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics at Boston Children's Hospital and the Boston Medical Center. Tolu shared the following with me about her time in CMDA: "NEOCMDA helped me stay in community with other believers, enabling me to be Christ-focused while studying medicine." She also shared with me the following prayer requests: "For God to provide financially as I transition to an expensive city. For my landlord to approve of lease guaranty. For internship to be even more rewarding than stressful."
Elisabeth Wynia matched into the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. Elisabeth shared the following with me about her time in CMDA: "NEOCMDA has not only given me both a consistent source of support, encouragement, and mentorship, but has also equipped me to lead and serve my medical school and community. It has helped me be much more missional and prayerful in how I go about serving my patients and my teams." She also shared the following prayer request with me: "Pray for transition to a new part of the country and new responsibilities, and that I would be able to find spiritual and social support in my new location, even in the midst of pandemic-related disruptions."
